The main difference of a Taintor gate, compared to other non-radial gates, is less lifting effort and running quickly and optimal regulation.

Board consists of a radial concentric to a turning point. This board rotates supporting arms that attach it to the pivot point. It is driven by two hydraulic cylinders.

There are two types of Taintor gates for spillways and others for other types of  use. For a Taintor Gate Spillway, Its function is to control the level of fluid in canals and spillways. In some cases may be embedded in a flap on top and improve regulation. It is sealed on bottom and sides with rubber sealing gaskets.
